Mehra has found his ‘Sahibaan’
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehrahas found his Sahibaan for his love tale Mirza Sahibaan in Saiyami Kher, niece of talented actress Tanvi Azmi and granddaughter of yesteryear's leading lady Usha Kiran. The director says Saiyami was not chosen for her illustrious acting lineage. He chose her after months of intensive search and churning. “We've selected Saiyami for her ability to project the delicacy, strength, turmoil and resolve of the character. Just like Harshvardhan (Kapoor), it didn't matter where Saiyami came from. She had to prove herself capable of carrying off the character,” said Mehra. Mirza Sahibaan will also mark the debut of Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan, who has been cast as Mirza. Rakeysh confesses the decision to cast Sahibaan wasn't easy.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah accused Idea Cellular of fooling people through its ‘no fooling' advertisement. Omar said that the ad is misleading as the pashmina shawls are not supposed to pass a ring test as projected in the ad. “Dear @ideacellular your ad is wrong and totally misleading. Pashmina shawls aren't supposed to pass a ring test, that's a shatoosh shawl,” (sic) Omar tweeted. In response to this, Rajat Mukarji, chief corporate affairs officer, Idea Cellular, said, “The advertisement is part of an ongoing series showing different situations where the use of mobile telephony services is shown to empower the common people. The creative expression in advertising is only intended to demonstrate to the viewers the benefits of using mobile telephony service, with the over-arching objective of promoting mobile broadband in the country. As a responsible organisation and brand, we always do thorough research and due-diligence prior to undertaking any customer communication. In this case too, we verified the accuracy of our claim prior to finalising the campaign. We have written to the CM of J&K clarifying our position on the advertisement and confirm that the ring test is valid on pashmina shawls.”
