Hosseini’s book out on May 21
Khaled Hosseini’s previous two novels, The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns, were both international number one bestsellers and have sold over 38 million copies worldwide.
Now his third one (by Hachette Publishers) — And the Mountains Echoed, will release on May 21.
Six years in the writing, Khaled Hosseini says of And the Mountains Echoed: “My earlier novels were, at heart, tales of fatherhood and motherhood. My new novel is a multi-generational family story as well, this time revolving around brothers and sisters, and the ways in which they love, wound, honour and sacrifice for each other.”

PepsiCo Inc severed ties with rapper lIl WAYNE over a graphic reference to slain US civil rights figure Emmett Till in a song.
lil Wayne, 30, had been the face of the PepsiCo drink Mountain Dew's Deweezy campaign, a play on the rapper's ‘Weezy' nickname. “We do not plan any additional work with lil Wayne moving forward,” a Mountain Dew representative said in a statement. “His offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon does not reflect the values of our brand,” he added.
Keira to tie knot at the vineyard
Actress Keira Knightley is reportedly set to marry rocker-fiance James Righton at her family's $5 million vineyard. The marriage is said to be taking place over the weekend in Mazan, a village near Mont Ventoux in Provence. “It's a beautiful location for the wedding. They're very, very lucky. It's just the perfect time of year for it as well, they couldn't have picked a better weekend weather-wise,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted a source as saying.
Several tents have been put up at the farm and the couple has employed a local catering team for the reception. Also, 120 bottles of varied wines have also been sourced from local vineyard, said sources.
