Asia’s largest confluence for home and lifestyle products — Home Expo India (HEI-2013) — a culmination of Indian Furnishings, Floorings and Textiles show (IFFTEX), Indian Furniture and Accessories Shows (IFAS) and Indian Houseware and Decoratives Show (IHDS) — will get underway at the world class venue of India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida Expressway from April 15-18.

Around 400 participants will be displaying best of their products to enable a large number of overseas buyers including renowned international brands from across the globe offering them three premium sourcing opportunities under one roof. The products on offer will be all inclusive, right from ready products to a choice in materials, components, hardware and accessories.

The most important aspect of Home Expo India is the confirmation from large number of top buyers, buying houses, import houses, chain stores, boutique owners and interior decorators from leading markets like USA, European Union, Far East, latin America, Central Asia and African continents to visit and source at this show, informed Babu lal Dosi, President of Home Expo India 2013.

The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), organisers of the Home Expo India, has been successfully organising Asia’s largest Indian Handicrafts & Gifts Fair (IHGF) twice a year for the past 15 years. Over the years, IHGF has acquired the reputation of “One stop sourcing event” amongst the overseas buying community and ‘most effective marketing medium’ amongst the Indian exporting community.

“The thrust in the international markets is now on product-segmented specialised trade show rather than trade shows covering all product categories. Hence, there was need for Home Expo India. The emphasis laid by the council is on making this show a wholesome with a ‘Home Total’ tag attached to it with the intention of making it a benchmark event for premium merchandise for a target market/buyers segment”, said Rakesh Kumar, Executive Director, EPCH. “Having given shape to the idea called Home Expo India, EPCH’s publicity and promotional activities have been aggressively pursued at prime trade shows in the select markets abroad,” elaborated the Executive Director.

The EPCH will lay special focus on specialties of select regions of India at this show.  In this direction, there will be separate pavilions of products from North Eastern Region (NER) and J&K region. North East will highlight cane and bamboo products and J&K will highlight walnut wood carving, crewel embroidery, shawls, hand-knotted carpets and rugs.

Tribal Crafts of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha will also be prominently placed in the fair. Another important aspects of the Home Expo India are dedicated interactions during two seminars by eminent speakers from abroad on “increased sales all wrapped up — packaging for handicrafts products and latest design, trends, colours and patterns,” elaborated Arvind Vadhera, Chairman, EPCH.

The major markets for exports of home furnishing, floorings, home textiles, furniture and accessories, houseware and decoratives have been USA, Canada, countries in European Union like France, Italy, UK, Netherlands etc in addition to UAE, Japan and Switzerland.

Home Expo India 2013 is expected to generate great business deals for direct import as also for collaborations.
