Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said the prosperity of the country should not be assessed by the GDP but on the basis of all round development of its citizens.
"The prosperity of the country should not be assessed by the GDP but by the all round development of its citizens which include both mental and physical development," the Chief Minister said after laying the foundation stone of an educational institution to be set up by Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust here.
Speaking on the aim of education, Yadav said education should develop inner self besides developing skills and he also promised to extend help to all organisations coming forward to expand education in the state.
"The right education gives capable, tolerant, polite, dedicated citizens to the country who help in establishing communal harmony," Yadav added.
He also hailed the efforts of the trust in the education sector.
