With new Government at the Centre, there is almost a pack-up plans of a long list of Congress led UPA appointed Governors. They include some of the politically rehabilitated people like former Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit who received a drubbing at the hands of AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal. She was appointed Kerala Governor only a couple of months ago.
Dikshit’s political career would certainly now come to an end as she could not even make to Rajya Sabha after making an unceremonial exit from Delhi politics. Dikshit ruled Delhi for three terms and to her credit for carrying out the developmental works in the NCT also gave seven lok Sabha seats too successively.
The Governors list (21) also include, Janaki Ballab Patnaik (Assam), D Y Patil (Bihar), Kamala Beniwal (Gujarat), K Sankaranarayanan (Maharashtra), S C Jamir (Odisha), Shivraj Patil (Punjab), Margaret Alva (Rajasthan). Besides this, there are several autonomous institutions which have political appointees would undergo a complete change where Congress called the shots for almost a decade.
