BJP leading with 71 seats in Uttar Pradesh

The results are yet to come out officially but the trend indicates BJP tsunami in Uttar Pradesh that has decimated opposition parties.  The Congress is leading in only two seats – Rae Bareli and Amethi – considered party’s pocket borough while Samajwadi Party and BSP have failed to touch double figure mark while Rashtriya lok dal has drawn a blank.
Astonishing!. Could anyone think of such result just a six months back. The BJP had won just 10 seats in last lok Sabha elections in 2009 and won 47 out of 403 assembly seats in 2012 polls. In just two years the party has emerged as a force that had transcended the barriers and caste and creed. It is too early to analyse but the amount of support BJP has got shows Muslims too have voted for Narendra Modi in this election.
The trend shows BJP is leading in 71 seats out of 80 while Samajwadi Party is ahead in just 6 seats. last time SP had 21 MPs. And most astonishing is that RlD has failed to open its account. Chaudhry Ajit Singh, who was Union Aviation Minister in Manmohan Government and his son Jayan Chaudhry have lost to BJP.
Not only Chaudhry all the Union Ministers in Manmohan cabinet are trailing. Foreign Affairs minister Salman Khurshied is on fifth place and is facing the danger of losing his deposit. Union Minister of State for Home R.P.N. Singh is trailing while Coal Minister is behind Murli manohar Joshi of BJP in Kanpur.
“This is the anger of the masses against Congress that has given this age old party such a humiliating defeat. The party post because their leaders were arrogant and they lost touch with the ground realities,” BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said.
