BJP today said government was not serious on acting against blackmoney as it has "failed  miserably"  to bring such money stashed away abroad.

"Government is not ready to take any action and has failed miserably to bring back the blackmoney and act against it. We condemn the government’s inaction and will raise this issue afresh," said BJP Spokesperson Prakash Javadekar.

He said there were "doubts in the government's intentions" in acting against blackmoney  and said even the Finance Minister's budget  speech had no mention about blackmoney.

He said in the light of the recent sting operations on private banks allegedly involved in  money laundering activity, government  had not even initiated a probe and questioned if the  government expected  that the probe initiated by private banks will come out with the  truth.

Javadekar said the party has demanded action against blackmoney after reports that a private group Global Network had claimed unearthing 1,000 such foreign bank accounts having blackmoney, of which 600 belonged to Indians.

"Common people can find where the blackmoney is, but government cannot. There are  doubts in the government's intentions. Government does not want to act against  blackmoney. There is no serious action taken to bring back blackmoney," he said.

The BJP leader charged the government with not following up on  any information  received in this regard from Wikileaks, HSBC, German  banks or France.

He also cited the example of Pune-based stud farm owner Hassan  Ali when the Finance  minister earlier claimed Rs 50,000 crores were  in his single account, while the same  finance Minister is now claiming  there is no money in that account.
