AAP accuses BJP of trying to topple Kejriwal Govt

Aam Aadmi Party today accused BJP of trying to topple the Arvind Kejriwal government claiming that the opposition party was attempting to lure its MlAs to switch side.

AAP leader Sanjay Singh alleged at a press conference that a number of senior BJP leaders along with some "media persons" were backing the move to bring down the government.

Madan lal, AAP MlA from Kasturba Nagar, claimed that two persons having links with a senior BJP leader had met him around 10-12 days ago and offered Rs 20 crore to split AAP.

"They said if you get nine people, you can break away and form a new party and come to power. We will make you Chief Minister. BJP will give you all help," lal said without producing any proof to substantiate the allegations.

The MlA alleged that one person also offered that if he succeeded in getting support of around 10 AAP MlAs, then he would be made the Chief Minister of Delhi.

lal said that on December 8, an unidentified person had telephoned him, saying a prominent leader wanted to talk to him.

"When I asked him who wanted to talk to me, he said Arun Jaitley. After hearing Jaitley's name, I cut the phone. I could not make a call back on the unknown number," he said.

In a tweet, Jaitley rubbished the allegations. "Rubbish claims by AAP. AAP's alternative politics includes a fundamental right to falsehood and lies," he said.

Asked why he didn't record the offer by that person as Kejriwal government was trying to teach the common man of Delhi how to do sting operation of officials seeking bribe, the MlA said he didn't have such a device.

"Besides, I didn't want to record the conversation against BJP as this is just my allegation and I don't want to fall into any legal cases," he said.

Singh alleged that both BJP and Congress wanted to create a situation so that AAP government falls. He alleged that both these parties were hand-in-glove with electricity distribution companies.

"During the tenure of last government, NTPC never told BSES that if it didn't pay dues, it would stop supply of power," Singh said.

He said AAP would tomorrow launch a "Poll Khol" campaign against BJP and Congress.

"In Poll Khol campaign, we will bring out the truth about BJP and Congress before Delhiities. Besides, we would also tell residents about work of AAP-led government has done in the last one month," he said.
