Think now | Dogen Zenji, Japanese philosopher

Published on:

If you want to travel the Way of Buddha and Zen masters, then expect nothing, seek nothing, and grasp nothing. If you have compassion and are imbued with the spirit of the Way, it is of no consequence to be criticised, even reviled, by the ignorant. But if you lack the spirit, you should be wary of being thought of as having the Way. Prefer to be defeated in the presence of the wise than to excel among fools.
