Hyderabad: The Central government recognises the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, as a Centre of Excellence-Skills (CoE-Skills) in the agriculture sector.
In a statement, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare said that MANAGE Hyderabad has been recognised as a CoE-Skills by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The institute was established in 1987 to strengthen the agricultural extension system in the country.
The recognition as a centre of excellence has been conferred through a certificate of recognition presented by the MSDE in New Delhi on 2 November. The recognition is valid for a period of three years.
“The empanelment will provide an opportunity for the institute to diversify towards skilling, which is vital for the growth of agriculture and the country. It will further strengthen the engagement of MANAGE in agricultural skill development and entrepreneurship in alignment with the government's vision of creating a skilled, competent and entrepreneurial workforce,” it said in the statement.
This recognition reinforces MANAGE's continued commitment to advancing agricultural extension, strengthening institutional capacity, promoting entrepreneurship and contributing to the development of a skilled and dynamic agricultural workforce in the country, the ministry said further.
