Hyderabad: Hyderabad District Collector Dr Priyanka Ala has urged people to use electricity and water judiciously amid the prevailing El Niño conditions. She said a district-wide public awareness campaign would be organised through Telangana Samskruthika Sarathi artistes to sensitise people about the need to conserve these essential resources.

Speaking after the Prajavani, the Collector said awareness programmes would be conducted across all mandals under the aegis of the District Information and Public Relations Department.

As part of the campaign, cultural troupes would visit government offices, colleges, hostels, schools, residential localities and major junctions to spread awareness among the public about the importance of conserving water and electricity.

Earlier, members of the Telangana Samskruthika Sarathi cultural troupes conducted an awareness programme on El Niño for district officials in the presence of the Collector.

Collector further emphasised that water conservation was a shared social responsibility and appealed to people to avoid wastage and use electricity and water only according to their needs.
