I think everyone will agree with this statement. Otherwise, we know what happens when we are unable to find answers; our minds begin to dwell on the problems/troubles faced by us. And it does enormous harm to us. We lose our peace of mind. For example, someone has two daughters and there is a lot of pressure on him from his family for going for a third child, which could turn out to be a son, while he knows in his heart that he won’t be able to afford proper bringing up of three children in his limited income. Unable to decide, he becomes unhappy. Poor fellow forgets to live in the present and enjoy the two divine gifts in the form of two daughters. And such persons develop negative attitude towards life, ie the ones who are not able to find satisfactory answers to whatever they are unable to find solutions of.
Before I discuss how should we seek correct answers and how these help, let me state what most people do in these circumstances. They restrict themselves. Going back to the same example, this man should discuss the pros and cons with whoever is pressurising him for a third child, unless it is his own desire. Open and sincere discussion will bring out the truth, ie what is desirable and possible. If one does not do so, he will be obsessed with the problem.
Many problems are such that one becomes fearful. For example, someone has a growth in some part of his body, which he suspects to be cancerous. Now only a test can tell whether it is malignant or benign, but he is afraid about the possibility of it being malignant. He delays getting the test done and is afraid. Worries and anxieties are similar emotions one is stuck with when one is unable to decide. And we know what is the result of such obsession, fears, worries, etc; we become candidates for mental illness.
You will agree that this is not very good; we must seek and know the proper solutions to our problems and get on with our lives because as most people find out fearing hurts more than any real trouble one has ran into; we accept the reality better than what we fear or are anxious about.
So how does one seek proper answersIJ We have several avenues. The first one will always be the self only, but my advice is to expand the area of search; one should go beyond one’s mind and seek information from books, internet, etc, if one does not want to consult others. However, this search should be time-bound and not go on indefinitely. Wise persons take help from relatives or friends, who are knowledgeable and trustworthy, ie who would not take advantage of us. Or one should go to experts in the field like doctors, lawyers etc. Then, there are spiritually realised souls who could assist in finding answers if the problem is of such nature. The last choice is God if one is connected to him. Rather I will go to the extent to say that God should be the first choice because he is omniscient. Personally, I pray to God for answers besides trying other avenues.
Finally, let us acquaint ourselves about how correct answers help. We become peaceful. We can get on with our lives. This helps us to get focused on our present duties, responsibilities and not be lost in thoughts. Obviously, a person with an untroubled mind can be useful to self and others. And such persons are good examples for others, ie this habit rubs on others.
let us not get bogged down with any real or perceived problem. Get the answer as soon as possible and go on with life. life is a mix of both good and bad and we need to accept this fact. By the way, God supplies answers/solutions through intuitions or through someone or when we happen to read something or we see a television programme. Of course, this is all arranged by God. I get most of my answers first thing in the morning when I have just woken up, and that is when I do most of my writing.
