Vijender Gupta demands probe into bogus ration cards

Published on:

leader of the Opposition Vijender Gupta in Delhi Assembly has demanded a high level independent investigation in order to identify people with bogus ration cards.

He said that there are more than four lakh bogus ration cards holders in the city. Action must be taken against them, he said.

Gupta said that as per the credible information, ration mafias are operating in the national capital.  "The Government instead of taking measures to curb the menace, is running of its responsibilities and misleading people in the name of 'Door Step Delivery system'.

Referring figures of Food Department, Gupta said that there are 73 lakh people getting cheaper ration. "Keeping a tab on mafias will help in adding more needy people under the ambit," he said.
