Union Minister Vijay Goel on Saturday met Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Saiyad Ahmed Bukhari as part of the BJP’s nationwide “contact for support” campaign ahead of the lok Sabha elections next year.
Goel informed Shahi Imam about the developmental works done by the Central government in last four years and also presented a booklet illustrating the same. He also briefed Imam about the development work carried out for minority.
He also said that the various schemes launched by the Government for minorities such as reducing fare of the Hajj Pilgrimage substantially and providing scholarships to students of class 10th and 12th. He further said that programme like ‘Ustad’ and ‘Hunar Haat’ is also being run for minority.
Bukhari acknowledged the developmental work done by the Prime Minister. He also said that he is the first Prime Minister to visit various Muslim countries like Iran, Afghanistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.
