The trouble for the former Mayor of Nizamabad Dharampuri Sanjay has deepened as the police have booked a sexual offences case against him under the Nirbhaya Act.
The case was booked at IV Town police station in Nizamabad after students of Shankary Nursing college in Nizamabad complained to the Home Minister that Sanjay had subjected two of them to sexual harassment.
Sanjay is the son of senior leader of TRS and member of Rajya Sabha D Srinivas. Shankary college of nursing was owned by Sanjay but he claimed he had transferred the management to others. He denied knowing any student of the college. “The college was leased out to others”, he said adding that the allegations against him were politically motivated.
The matter has come to the fore at a time when serious differences had cropped up between D Srinivas and Nizamabad member of lok Sabha K Kavitha. local TRS leaders had alleged that Srinivas had become soft towards BJP after his younger son Aravind had joined the saffron party.
