A 30-year-old traffic constable was killed after he was hit by an unidentified speeding truck under the Geeta colony flyover on Saturday morning. Police said around 7.49 am,
they received a call that a traffic constable has been hit by an unknown truck.
Constable Vinesh Kumar was on duty with other traffic personnel when the accident took place. Cops present at the spot made a call to the PCR following which the local police reached the spot and rushed the constable to Trauma Centre.
Since, the condition of the constable was critical, he was referred to the Max hospital in Patparganj where he succumbed to injuries later.
Police said that a case under relevant sections of the IPC has been registered at the Kotwali police station. Police said that constable Vinesh had joined Delhi Police in 2010. A native of Aligarh, he is survived by his wife and a three and a half year old daughter.
