The Rs 4,200 crore Torrent Pharmaceuticals limited on May 9 announced the appointment of Samir Mehta as the new Chairman of the company. The post was currently held by his elder brother Sudhir Mehta.
As per the statement issued by the company, Sudhir Mehta had decided on his own to relinquish his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors after approval from the annual general meeting which is expected to be held in July this year. However, he has accepted to take the position of Chairman Emeritus.
