Ties with JD(U) spicy, but stable: BJP

Published on:

BJP spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain has described the relationship between the BJP and JD(U) as “chatpata” (spicy) and cautioned those who see their 17-year-old alliance with an evil eye.

Hussain told mediapersons in Patna on Saturday that the people of Bihar have put their “tika” on the relationship of these two parties and that anybody creating problems for the alliance will not be spared by them.

In a veiled reference to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s ‘topi and tika’ remarks during the JD(U) national council meeting recently, he said several party leaders and workers put ‘tika’ on their foreheads and wear ‘topi’ too.

Coming down heavily on the UPA Government for the attack on Sarabjeet Singh inside a lahore jail, the BJP leader slammed the Centre’s weak foreign policy which gives the courage to countries like Pakistan and China to take undue advantage.

Hussain said, “A message about a weak Government at the helm of affairs in the country has gone across the globe. Now, various countries are taking advantage of it.” He added that the attack on Sarabjeet and Chinese incursion in ladakh only demonstrated how India

was being internationally treated.
