It’s Entertainment is out and out a commercial film featuring Akshay Kumar and Tamannaah Bhatia. There is a great chemistry in between them and they look great on screen. Apart from them, there is Mithun Chakraborty, Prakash Raj, Sonu Sood, Johnny lever, Krushna Abhishek and Hiten Tejwani. But the most important character in this film is a dog. Considering that we have a large number of pet lover from children to the elderly, we introduced the dog and wove the story around him. It just so happened that Akshay Kumar said that we were great scriptwriters so why didn’t we make our own film and venture into direction. We liked the idea and immediately plunged into direction. It’s Entertainment is happening because of him only. He is a great person.
On Scripting industry
There is a misconception in the industry that star power is supreme to all other things in Bollywood. But it’s the script that makes the story and an actor hit instead of star power. It is the script which brings out the best in actors and directors in the industry. A good script with a good starcast, is like an icing on the cake.
On working style
We believe in commercial entertainment and not parallel cinema. There was a time when we did four films in a year. To be successful in your work, one needs to enjoy every bit of it and work hard. like in music riyaaz is very important for the singers as it helps them to give their best performance. In the same way, continuous writing makes a better scriptwriter. Also, by interacting with youngsters, we get a fair idea what our public will expect from the dialogues we weave in the film.Dialogue writing is our forte. What the audience remembers in a movie are the dialogues and one-liners.
On working with celebrities
Be it Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Salman Khan or Rohit Shetty, we had the best of time with all of them. One common thing that Farhad and I liked about all of them is they respect the hard work we put in and give due credit. People say that if you have to get your work done, buttering up to people is important as well. But that doesn’t take one a long way. Hard work and talent has brought us love and success. We get to learn a lot from celebrities.
