Rubbishing the possibilities of 'Third Front' forming a Government in the Centre, leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley on Saturday said that the country will witness Presidential-style contest in the 2014 general elections. He was speaking at a seminar 'India 2020: Challenges Ahead' on Saturday.

Jaitley further said that any party with a tally of 150 seats in the lok Sabha elections would be able to form a Government.

"A perception has been formed that the Government at the Centre would be weak due to being coalition," said the BJP leader. "There is no political party in the Third Front which has more than 25 seats. This is a failed idea. It has failed many times and will never be successful," he added.

"This political fight will be on the anti-incumbency plank and in a way like a Presidential election where personalities will lead. At least my party workers and I are clear on this issue and maybe the people of the country are also clear," he said.

He said that the leadership of the nucleus party in a coalition should have the ability to guide people. "Today, what this Nation needs is such a leadership which has proven ability and people are looking towards us. It is our responsibility not to disappoint the Nation. I hope we will be able to take this Nation out of crisis," Jaitley added.

He said the state in which the UPA Government will leave the country, it will be a huge challenge to emerge out from the crisis. Jaitley also attacked the Congress leadership for not giving the head of the Government (Prime Minister) enough power and freedom for having his last word in the decision-making process, suggesting he lacked political stature and experience.

"Majority of Prime Ministers in our country had weight in their suggestions. They had the last word in the Government's every decision because in any democracy Prime Minister is accountable. In this rule of UPA, this did not happen," he said.
