The puzzle in the room

Dilliwallahs have been trying different avenues for keeping themselves entertained. Mystery Rooms is one such concept to explore, says Sunday Pioneer

Everything about this place is shrouded in a mystery. From the location to the various levels; just about everything out here is thematic. That is what strikes you about Mystery Rooms — a fun concept where participants are locked up in various rooms (depending on the level you are at) for 60 minutes and they are made to solve a mystery with the help of the clues provided. Sounds like funIJ
“There is very little that young adults can engage in nowadays, apart from eateries and multiplexes. So, we decided to give them something different. Everybody is a mystery fan, so we decided to come up with this thrilling concept. It has gone down well. We are coming up with new branches in Noida and Gurgaon soon,” Sapna Bhutani, co-founder of this unique live game, tells you.
She along with Shikhar Bhutani, a computer engineer and friend Prateek Panjwani (the architect) came up with the first live mystery-solving experience at Rajouri Garden  in September 2014 and the going has been good. “There is a lot of thought that has gone behind the making of this place. We have lightings and music to recreate a mystery feel. There is a vintage clock and a poster of Sherlock Holmes to add to that edge,” Bhutani, says. At this offering, there are four rooms and the difficulty levels increases with every room. “Two-8 members can take part in a challenge. They are being constantly monitored by the control room authorities through CCTV cameras,” Bhutani warns.
The levels are technologically planned. “In the ‘Hurt locker’ participants have to save people from a bomb blast in a cinema hall.  Then we have a room where participants have to escape from the prison, a third level where they are required to save villagers and the fourth which entails a kidnapping act,” she explains. In the upcoming editions, Bhutani tells you the levels will focussed on edutainment. “There will be a ‘Night in Bhangarh’ experience and the other theme is about stealing the Kohinoor!,” Bhutani says. For Rs1000 per person (it depends on the mission), give it a try!
