The pressure cooker of college admissions is here!

With the admission process for the University of Delhi set to begin on Monday, colleges have begun their preparations and are working in full swing to ensure nothing goes wrong. There are 18 admission centres spread over North, South, East and West this time. While the university has been promoting the online medium of filling application forms, there is still a huge crowd expected at the centres. Most college centres are expecting to be flocked with students at least in the first week.

A total of four counters are expected to be open at each centre - three for sale of forms and one for receipt. Adequate sitting arrangements have been made and teachers will also be present to assist students through the process. Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College has provided for air-conditioned rooms for students to sit and fill forms in. Principal Dr Jaswinder Singh said, “There will be AC rooms and we have also arranged for water for the students. There will be volunteers of NCC and NSS as well at the counters to help students.”

Further, Dr Vijendra Singh, Associate Professor at Hansraj College, added, “The four counters for sale and receipt of forms will each be divided into two queues. One will be for the forms that cost Rs 150 and one will be for the forms that cost Rs 75. This way there will be no confusion and students will also not have to wait in long queues.” The optical mark recognition (OMR) forms for OBC and General Category students will be priced at Rs 150 and for SC/ST students at Rs 75.
