Tarpaulin at makeshift Ram temple to be changed today

Published on:

Tarpaulin sheet and other material at the  makeshift Ram temple at the disputed site here will be changed on Sunday as per Supreme Court's directions, an official said here on Saturday.

In August, the Supreme Court had allowed changing of the worn-out tarpaulin sheets and other material at the makeshift temple.

"We direct that the authorised person /Commissioner Faizabad is permitted to replace the old and worn out tarpaulin sheet, jute matting, bamboo,  polythene sheet and ropes over the makeshift structure by new ones of the same size and quality and exactly in the same manner as they were previously placed," a bench headed by Justice T S Thakur had said.

The replacement of sheets and any other worn-out pieces would be carried out in the presence of two court-appointed observers, including a retired and a serving judge.
