Tell us about yourself.

I am a singer, actress, dancer and Miss India Scotland, 2012. I have been singing since I was 11 and that’s when I released my debut album titled Dil Milde produced by music director Atul Sharma and co-featuring my brother lord Manmeet. The album featured traditional Punjabi folk songs.

Did you train professionallyIJ

I am a classically trained singer of Shabad (Sikh religious hymns) and sing at the local Gurdwara. I learnt ragas and sargams very early in life, first in the UK and then in India.

How did acting happenIJ

I have starred in the BBC TV series Half Moon Investigations’ as well as several short films and documentaries. Then there is this Punjabi film Mahi NRI alongside award-winning Punjabi singer Hardy Sandhu releasing this year.

Tell us about your singles.

As part of Stranger Family in 2012-13, I released the single Peengh to great success in the Asian music charts. I featured on the summer single Ghetto alongside Mumzy Stranger, Junai Kaden, Tasha Tah and Char Avell.

My debut solo Kuriya was one of the stand-out party tracks in the summer of 2014. Then came Tere karke produced by Surinder Rattan which went straight to No 1 position on world charts on iTunes.

The latest release Talli Hogiya with Curtis Young, Dr Dre’s son.

Tell us more about this song.

It is a beautiful Punjabi soulful song whose lyrics have been written by Zain Kan and Sonu Khan. The music has been composed by Dr Zeus. I am sure people will love it as much I do.
