Survey for Government school reforms begins
Published on:

In order to bring reforms in the present education system in the city, the Delhi Government has started a survey in schools. The survey has been launched in the backdrop of its recent proposal for a separate Education Board and syllabus for its 722 schools in the city. Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday appealed to the people to participate in the survey so that better education could be provided to the children.

“When people join hands with Government, spectacular results follow. Delhi Education Dept brings such an opportunity of mutual participation (sic),” he tweeted referring to the survey. The official Facebook page of the education survey campaign by the Delhi Education Department mentioned its objective of collecting feedback on the existing education system from 1.37 lakh students of 722 Delhi Government schools, who had passed Class XII in 2014.

The page would serve as a proper communication channel with callers of the survey project. According to a senior official, the project has well designed objective questions on different aspects of the schools, which would help the Education Minister prioritise his area of attention and would also lay a proper picture to assist in the policy making. The survey is scheduled to be completed in 10 days. “This is a very important task for our future generation. Our focus is collecting feedback from students to understand their need,” a Team Education Survey Project member said.
