With strong breeze continued on Saturday right from early morning to late in the evening, skies of Gujarat’s major cities became vibrant with colourful kites in wake of the auspicious festival - Uttarayan or Makar Sankranti.
As it happens every year, people climbed up to their terraces right from early in the morning and stayed there till late in the evening to enjoy kite flying. It was not limited to flying kite, they partied the entire day with danced on Bollywood numbers, Garaba and even western music. Typical Gujarati food including Undhiyu, Puri, Chikki, Dhokla, Handvo, Fafada, Khakhara and many other delicacies were integral part of the festival crazy people.
Celebrities too enjoyed electrifying atmosphere. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani celebrated Uttarayan at Khadia area of Ahmedabad.
