Congress president Rahul Gandhi attacked BJP president Amit Shah over his comment recently equating the Opposition parties to animals.
Addressing the media on the sidelines of his crucial fifth leg of election campaign at Kolar Gold Field (KGF) on Saturday Congress chief said it is a very disrespectful statement. He said, “Calling the entire Opposition animals is disrespectful. See according to Amit Shah and the basic vision of the RSS there are only two non animals in the country. There is Prime Minister Narendra Modi and there is Amit Shah.”
“Everybody else as far as they are concerned are animals. That’s fine this is the way they look at the world. It is disrespectful statement but we don’t take Amit shah seriously,” he added.
Congress chief is fighting a do or die battle in the Karnataka assembly polls as it is very crucial for the party to retain power to prove a point himself to counter the BJP.
He also continued his temple hopping and other religious places to show a theoretical change in the perception of century old party. Gandhi is betting high on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who is playing appeasement politics to the hilt. After Gujarat Karnataka is going to be a litmus test for the Congress and its young leader.
Criticising Shah, Rahul said it was the mentality of the BJP to call everyone animal and worthless.
“ It was the mentality that there were only two or three people in the country who are worth anything, who understand everything and everybody else is a worthless person. It is not only dalits, its tribal sts minorities. It does not stop there. Its Advani, Manohar Joshi even Gadkari its everybody,” he added.
Gandhi was very sarcastic and said “people in BJP internally does not have guts to say to you. They say to us.”
