Actress SWARA BHASKAR recently debuted online in a web series. She talks to Anchal Sharma about it

How did you get involved with the web series It’s Not That SimpleIJ

When I heard that script, I instantly said ‘yes’ because it was a fresh, honest, rational and unapologetic take on relationship complications.

Tell us more.

It is the story of four people who live ordinary lives before things change forever. It dwells on the idea of marriage, relationships and a woman’s stand in a marriage.

Tell us about the character that you playIJ

It’s a complicated story of a housewife caught in an extramarital affair and the complications thereafter. I play a wife, mother and daughter.  It’s a very honest look at relationships, marriage and friendship. I loved this role because it was something that I had not done before.

How was the chemistry with co-starsIJ

It was great. We had fun. Vivan Bhatena is a great actor. He has done a lot of TV(acted in shows like Kyon Ki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thhi, Aahaat etc) so he brought in a lot of experience.

Anything out of your comfort zoneIJ

As an actor you have to do a lot of things that are out of your comfort zone. For me, this time, it was kissing on screen.

Web series are a big trend. What do you think about itIJ

The digital space is truly in a big trend. It’s where new and interesting content is being created. It’s a new platform. I wanted to explore this medium. It is a new way for me to reach my audience. This is why I agreed to take up this series.

Are you preparing yourself for something more challengingIJ

You will see me in a never-before role in my film Anaarkali Aarah Waali. I play an orchestra singer from the small town of Aarah in Bihar.

How was it to work with director Danish AslamIJ

He is good person to work with. You can trust him easily. He is sensitive towards women.

Tanu Weds Manu & Neel Batta Sanataa... How’s your journey beenIJ

My journey is full of ups and downs but I have had a good time. I have learnt a lot of things.

Tell us about Veere Di WeddingIJ

It’s a beautiful film about friendship. It’s about four independent girls  and the challenges they face in life.

You are involved with scriptwriting too...

Yes, I have written a script. It is a love triangle but not much head-way has been made. I am yet to finalise the producer and the director. Also, the script has to be given final touches.
