A person died and three were left with burns after a fire broke out in a three-storey building in Rohini’s A2 block of Sector-8. The incident took place in the wee hours of Saturday when the building’s second and third floor of the community centre caught fire.
The fire station received the call at 2:55 am. Some renovation work was underway inside the building when the fire started. The blaze spread due to the AC ducts and false ceiling. Noor Ahmed (25) died and three injured -- identified as Mohammad Danish, Mohammad Wasir and Saroj Khan, were hospitalised. A dozen fire engines were rushed to the site.
