Rijiju accuses Cong of making an issue out of beef ban in N-E

Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Saturday accused the Congress of trying to make an issue out of the beef ban in India’s North East and said that no State in the region had any problem on the Central Government notification on cattle sale.

“In Nagaland, Manipur or any other parts of the North East none felt anything. People are eating whatever they like and there is no problem. But the Congress is trying to make an issue out of it,” he said.

“Congress and some pseudo-secular forces are making issue over the ban. Our Government is trying to develop North East, which was not developed by the earlier Governments,” he said. Asked about the fact that certain BJP leaders have resigned over the issue in the region, Rijiju termed the move as political one and said resignation of some individual should not be considered as an issue.
