Not bad for A CRISIS situation
Rating: 4/5
Crysis, when launched on the PC was the benchmark of graphics performance. So, much so, it became an Internet meme, “will it play CrisisIJ” applying to any new device that was launched from tablets to e-readers. If you have been following the series, Crysis 3 is set 20 years after Crysis 2 and is set in a destroyed and overgrown New York. You are “Prophet” equipped with a Nano suit which has excellent armour and a cloak. Armour allows you to take on fantastic odds. The cloak is the more interesting of the two features. If you have seen the predator series, Crysis 3 is sort of similar with stealth and silent weapons and the ability ability to kill while being cloaked.
You can effectively tiptoe through a group of enemies or past a gun emplacement. There is a catch though. The faster you move, the more energy you consume. Forget to time a rapid move through an enemy zone and you could be in middle of the field of fire without the cloak.
That said. You can hack and slash through the game (with guns of course) and the AI can seem pretty idiotic sometimes. Beyond this, there are some fun elements like hacking. While, hacking doors is a bit plain. But hacking an automated gun placement to turn on the enemy is quite a lot of fun.
The game seems to be an open world design, with objectives that can be reached from any angle, but it still is a very checkpoint driven game.
On the whole, the stealth ability adds a dimension that makes it worth picking up and playing.
