So, what is it that makes this instant messaging different from its competitors in the marketIJ “It is a comprehensive messaging platform which has a little something for every user. From sharing files up to 1GB , to groups of 1,001 users and sharing powerpoint and excel files while on the go,” Tarun Malik, Samsung Director, Media Solutions Centre, South West Asia, says.
Apart from making office life simpler, ChatON also comes packed with many fun things to do on the go. Touted as India’s first messaging application to feature English-to-Hindi and Hindi-to-English instant translation feature, this new version has also introduced a local language translation feature for incoming messages. “This feature supports 14 Indian languages too and can translate in a matter of seconds. A big plus if you are a avid traveller,” Malik tells you.
This version has also tweaked many things to make matters more interesting. Imagine watching a Youtube video of a certain cricket event , inside the messaging app. Then, it will also provide access to content from various genres like news, entertainment, games, health and others through multiple devices and platforms.
With a subscriber base of over 200 million in the globe, this instant messaging service is for free at the moment but will they at some point in time consider monetising the appIJ “At present there is no such plan. But let’s see where we get from here,” Malik concludes.
