In yet another incident a toddler was raped in the national Capital and is battling for her life in city hospital. A 36-year-old man had kidnapped a 10-month-old girl, raped her and when she fell unconscious he threw her in bushes and fled from the spot. Police said the accused was later arrested.

The incident took place  late on Friday night when the toddler was sleeping with her parents in a room at a construction site in West Delhi's Vikaspuri area. Her parents were working at the construction site as labourers. Seeing all of them asleep, the accused identified as Vijay, who is also a labour and a neighbour of the family, kidnapped the child.

“Vijay took the toddler to an isolated place and raped her. During the act she fell unconscious, but the accused thought she had died. In fear he threw her in bushes and fled away from the spot. After the incident, he went back to his place and slept,” a police officer privy to investigation said.
