The Pavitra spa at Rajasthali Resorts & Spa, Jaipur is quite a heavenly abode for travellers who wish to unwind in the lap of luxury. Shibaji Roychoudhury travels to this resort to tell you more
When the talk is about spa resorts one cannot ignore the Rajasthali Resorts & Spa in Jaipur. Serene environs, authentic Rajasthani khana, royal spa treatments in the lap of luxury, one can go on and on. But what takes the cake at this resort is their want to be as close to tradition as possible. Guests are taken back in time as they are made to mount a camel which will take them to their respective rooms/cottages. Fruit infusions are served in exquisite silverware as soon as one makes his/her way into the reception area. This experience of a majestic welcome makes sure your holiday has started on the right note.
There is grand-ness writ all over this resort — the rooms are all well appointed with latest technology and the services are praiseworthy. Not every resort gives you permission to take a dip in their indoor swimming pool at any given time but the management at Rajasthali Resorts and Spa have no problems in tending to insomniac guests who visit the pool at odd hours at night.
Most of the visitors at this opulent resort come to unwind at the Pavitra Spa, one of the major attractions of the resort. The spa which spreads over 2500 sq feet and overlooks the surrounding Aravallis is heaven on earth. Situated in the backlawn of the resort, Pavitra Spa looks inviting from the outside but during peak summer afternoons even the three layered insulation doesn’t help the heat waves from entering the high facility tents.
There are about 24 trained women and men masseuse who have the know hows of a spa treatment. They work shifts of six at one time. These trained people promise you over an hour of comfort right in the middle of greenery and tranquility.
Once at Pavitra Spa, guests should try the feet reflexology, the oil head massage and the uber relaxing hotbed back rubs. The Norweigian painrelief treatment and the Swedish body massage are by far the best treatments at the resort. For the Ayurvedic massages, though one needs to go completely releaxed with no time bounds. There is no point rushing a masseuse so it is advisable that you give this spa a skip if you are in a mad rush.
Another highlight of this spa is the fact that a guest can opt for two different spa treatments rolled into one session. Masseuse tell you that the Swedish with Ayurveda is a great combination for people over 40 years of age. For the younger lot, there is always the aroma oil backrubs.
Priced between Rs1,500-2,500, these spa treatments ensure that you are transformed into a virtual realm in a matter of minutes. What makes the massage a complete rejuvenating experience is the aroma oils that the masseuse use while tending to the guest. Mostly mogra with a hint of jasmine oil, Pavitra Spa is value for money.
While the rooms are big and wide, centrally air-conditioned with a 32-inch lED TV, a king-sized bed and a couple of Victorian chairs, however, the only drawback is that there is no jacuzzi in the deluxe rooms, just simple showers. The premiere palace rooms too merely have a bath tub alongside a shower. Yet, the carved walnut panels on the ceilings, Israeli marbled floors, traditionally embroidered bed covers and the classic Rajasthani woven silk curtains, all come together to make a rooms that’s luxurious and cosy at the same time.
Priced between Rs3,200 - 9,000 per night, the resort is quite a good option if you are considering a weekend getaway combined with spa treatments.
