Rain on Saturday brought along with it power cuts in several parts of the city. Worst affected were the West and East Delhi areas, where long outages were reported.
The power distribution companies, however, said the outages were due to prevention from any long-term damage in their plants due to rain. West Delhi areas like Uttam Nagar, Bindapur, Khayala, Dwarka, Tilak Nagar and Pitampura witnessed power cuts for as long as four hours.
Outages were also reported from the lutyens' Zone where loadshedding occurred to the tune of two hours.
The areas affected were Nai Sarak and Chawri Bazaar, Chandni Chowk, Delhi Gate, Daryaganj, Patel Nagar and Paharganj Walled Delhi, along with Jangpura, Mayur Vihar Phase I, I and II, laxmi Nagar and Vikaspuri.
