The Goa Congress’ official Whatsapp media group was caught in a tizzy on Saturday, after a porn-clip posted by a former office-bearer and part-time media photographer, was posted on the group.
After journalists expressed their ire on the group’s admin and Congress chief spokesperson Sunil Kawthankar, expelled the member from the group ‘Chief Spokesperson GPCC’ and apologised to the 80 odd journalists, who are members of the official Congress group.
“This is very serious. The number has been removed from this group. As an admin, I apologise to all the members for this act of one of the members. Such irresponsible act is highly objectionable and cannot be tolerated under any circumstances whomsoever he may be,” Kawthankar said on the group, after expelling Barnabe Sapeco, a former general secretary of the party, who had allegedly uploaded the porn clip.
Kawthankar, however, said, that Sapeco had not been added to the WhatsApp media group, in capacity as a party member, but as a photo-journalist. When contacted, Sapeco told The Pioneer, that the porn clip could have been posed by accident.
“It happened by accident. It was sent to me by someone. It must have been posted on the group accidentally. I apologize for the inconvenience,” Sapeco said.
