Politics of caste, parivarvad ended: Shah

Published on:

BJP President Amit Shah on Saturday credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi  with providing a decisive  and stable leadership in four years, ending  politics of caste and ‘parivarvad’ and bringing transformation in the country by the politics of performance.

Without taking name of the Congress, the BJP Chief said "politics of loud lies" has been nailed down and the Opposition put on the back foot.  Shah was alluding to Congress president Rahul Gandhi's reported comment that SC/ST  Atrocities (prevention) Act  has been scrapped by the Government. He said while the Opposition has only one agenda of "Modi-hatao" , the Prime Minister has set himself on the road of development and eradiation of poverty.

"Those who imposed emergency are giving us lessons of democracy and talking about atmosphere of fear. . these are fake people.",  he said answering a question which quoted the opposition saying that there was fear under the BJP rule. BJP President said " politics of performance is going to stay there for long and the BJP would return to power with a bigger majority in 2019".

Addressing a press Conference on the completion of four-years of governance at the Centre,  Shah described Modi as an "authentic, popular and  very hard working politician" who led the country from the state of  paralysis to state of performance.

He said BJP government has competed most of its promises and is set to light four  crore remaining households in the country before seeking  2019 mandate. " There was not a single corruption case against the government even as series of infrastructure projects were put on ground", he said.

"Haiwai chappal pehennewale bhi  hawai udaan kar rahe hain", said Shah giving details of the Modi-Government's achievements which included making 16800 villages free from seven basic problems including that of electricity , absence  of cooking  gas,  toilets  and immunisation. He said 50 per cent of population of these villages constitute of dalits.

"Modi dispensation is sensitive and committed towards development of villages," Shah said, noting that while focusing on the rural areas, due emphasis was also given to urban areas. Asked whether violence in Kashmir increased , he said maximum killing of terrorists took place during the BJP rule. He  denied that  that  there was any  atmosphere of fear  and retorted saying all those into corruption and having  Rs benamiRs  property surely have a lot of fear under the BJP  government. He said that with the 2016 surgical strikes conducted across the loC, the government exhibited its political willingness to take on the country's adversaries.

The BJP president said the government has also resolved the long-pending issue of One Rank One Pension within a year of coming to power.

He also said that several measures such as the constitution of an SIT to curb black money were taken by the government. The black money issue was one of the main poll planks of the BJP during the 2014 election campaign.

The BJP chief wasn't too forthcoming on a question whether democracy has turned 'high maintenance' with alleged instances of horse-trading, and what can be expected from such sold-off representatives. "Yes one or two instances have come to light," he said.

Shah said backed by good governance, BJP is now running its dispensations in 20 states  which have  65 per cent of country's population.
