Suspected terrorists on Saturday shot dead a ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) worker at Dailgam village in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, once known to be the pocket borough of the party.

Police sources said that unknown assailants opened fire upon the PDP worker Mohammad Ishaq Parray at Uggen in Dailgam in the afternoon.

Parray sustained serious bullet wounds and was shifted to nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Security forces cordoned off the area after the attack to track down the assailants.
