A day after the Pakistan foreign office asserted its position over the issue of accession of State of Jammu & Kashmir to India, Pakistani Rangers violated ceasefire agreement along the International border in Samba sector by targeting forward Indian border posts on Saturday.
According to official sources, Pakistani Rangers targeted forward Indian posts in Arnia sub sector in Samba district around 8.45 am with small weapons. Alert BSF jawans retaliated the fire and sounded high alert along the neighboring border outposts to prevent any infiltration bid from across the border.
According to ground reports, Pakistani Rangers used small arms to target the Indian posts. No one was injured in the brief exchange of fire. BSF troops had earlier reported exchange of fire on the International border a few days ago in the same area.
