Pakistani Army has once again stepped up its activities along the line of Control (loC) in Jammu and Kashmir to facilitate infiltration by small groups of heavily armed militants.
After two back to back incidents of ceasefire violation last week alert Indian troops late Friday night foiled another infiltration bid along the line of Control (loC) in Saujiyan sector of Poonch district.Following repeated incidents of ceasefire violations and desperate infiltration bids, the Indian troops have been maintaining tight vigil along the loC to fail their nefarious designs. The security situation along the loC has assumed significance in the wake of recent remarks of Raheel Sharif, Pak Army Chief, where he described Kashmir as ‘jugular vein’ of his country.
According to Defence PRO in Jammu,” Indian troops on Friday night observed movement of militants near the line of control but when militants were fired upon they ran towards the Pakistani side of the loC”.Two incidents of ceasefire violations were earlier reported in the frontier district on April 25, 28. On April 16 a similar infiltration bid was also foiled by the troops along the loC.
Meanwhile, security forces also recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in Doda district on Saturday. According to Defence PRO, 1 AK-56 rifle, 2 SlR, 2 AK-56 magazines, 226 rounds of AK 56, 6 rounds of UBGl were recovered by the security forces from the hideout in Doda.
