Here goes Sunday Pioneer’s wishlist of actors if and when Rajamouli goes for Mahabharat

Bhishm Pitamah: Back in 2013, Big B had lent his voice to Mahabharat, the computer animated historical drama directed by Amaan Khan. But with Rajamouli, he would be the perfect Pitamah as he sports the poise and stature for such a personality.

Duryodhan: In a recent interview to Sunday Pioneer, big screen baddie Gulshan Grover had said that Ranveer Singh has the making of a great villain. He may be right and Ranvir is our pick for Duryodhan, after all he is playing the anti-hero in Bhansali’s Padmavati.

Krishna: It is tad difficult to choose anyone but Nitish Bharadwaj to play this role even though it has been more than three decades since we saw him in this role. The actor says he would love to play the role again on the celluloid.

Yudhishthir: Even though there are reports that SS Rajamouli has approached Aamir Khan to play Arjun or Krishna with the actor choosing Krishna, he is our prefect fit for donning the hat of Yudhishthir. As the eldest Pandav, he will play the best thinker and philosopher.

Arjun: Our pick would be Prabhas for a couple of reasons. First, he has great screen presence and played Bahubali brilliantly. Second, he has the physique of Arjun, the master of bow and arrow, something he did with amazing correctness in Bahubali Part 2.

Bhim: He was supposed to be tall, big and have the strength of 10 elephants. After watching Rana Daggubati fight the huge bull in Bahubali: The Beginning, there can’t be anyone but him to play Bhim. It is will be interesting to see how he will tear Dushasana and fulfill Draupadi’s wish.

Draupadi: In the 2013 animation, Vidya Balan lent her voice to Draupadi but in Rajamouli’s venture Konkona Sen would be a perfect fit. She is a woman of substance as she has proved through her films Page 3, Mr & Mrs Iyer and Wake Up Sid. The fact that she is dusky, as was Draupadi, works in her favour.

Kunti: It’s Rekha for us, simply because she has an air about her which is not just regal but also quite motherly. She showed up as a loving mother with urpose in the Krishh series.

Abhimanyu: Sharad Malhotra, of Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki is good looking, has a young face and intense eyes. As Abhimanyu, he will endear himself instantly.
