Finding fault with the present education system in the country, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that one should not think that he can make progress only if he is proficient in English.
Speaking at an inaugural function of the building of Daya Prakash Saraswati Vidya Mandir School in Gaya on Friday, Bhagwat said that one should not have an illusion that only English will bring progress for him.
He said that the present education system is not very much focused on the nation building and the character building. He said that such an educational system could not serve the interest of the country and hence a thought should be given to it. The RSS chief said that Vidya Bharti Schools have a separate syllabus on nation building and character building and these high values are imbibed in students since beginning.
He said that even highly educated people will indulge in corrupt practices if they have no regard for nation building or character building.
Earlier, BJP president Rajnath Singh had found fault with overemphasis on English and the tendency of English-knowing people to behave like Englishmen.
