The Delhi Police has arrested 25-year-old wife of a Naval officer for allegedly applying for a credit card on her husband's name through forged documents in south Delhi's Vasant Vihar.
The accused had hit the headlines a few months ago when she had claimed that her husband forced her into wife-swapping business. The woman had then lodged a complaint that her husband had taken her to a number of naval social functions where he had forced her to have sex with his fellow Navy officers.
She had also alleged that some of the officers and their wives had put pressure on her and later tried to stop her from lodging a complaint. However, the Indian Navy has denied her claims.
While informing about the cheating case, a senior police officer said, "The arrest was made following the complaint of the SBI branch in ITI (Vasant Vihar). The complainant told the police that the accused allegedly applied for a credit card on her husband's name after submitting some forged documents, including some Indian Navy related documents of her husband's senior officers."
The complainant — in this a bank official — has also submitted the CCTV footages of the accused wherein the investigators found that the accused submitted all documents to the bank official. After receiving all the documents, the complainant sent them to the senior officials of the Navy for verification. However, in the verification report, the senior officers claimed that all the documents were forged.
"After receiving the report, complainant informed the police and the accused was arrested on Saturday evening from her residence. She was booked under Sections 420, 471, 468, 511 of the IPC and some Acts, including provisions of the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) at Vasant Vihar Police station of South Delhi," the officer added.
