Irked by the delay in handing over flats and to press their demand for early resumption of construction work of four housing society consisting of 5,000 flats, hundreds of buyers on Saturday held demonstrations in Noida Sector-107 and appealed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minster Akhilesh Yadav to intervene in the matter. Protesters also demanded possession of 575 ready flats.
They also distributed sweet boxes to the public to Allahabad High Court’s ruling in their favour on land acquisition dispute case last month. The High Court had vacated the stay on July 11 after the authority assured that it will give 64 per cent increased land compensation and 10 per cent of the developed land to farmers.
Around 200 homebuyers from Amrapali Heart Beat city, Great Value Sharnam and lotus 300 gathered at the construction site for a symbolic celebration of distributing 107 sweet boxes. They also took the issue to Twitter using hastag #GharDilwaoAkhileshJi. The home buyers also expressed pleasure on being independent and prolonged litigation on land since July 2014.
Puneet Prashar, a home buyer, said, “We are keeping hope from builder as well authority to speed this project now. The abandoned structures are our future home and it should now be delivered by the builder at their earliest pace. As 70 per cent construction work has been taken by them and no work took place since 2014. In last three years, we have been reeling under financial crises after investment in this project. We urged to deliver our home till 2017 election.”
“Home buyers want the builders to take immediate approach to construct their flats and toke completion certificates from Noida authority to deliver flats,” he added.
However, builders have assured the authority and buyers to start construction work in next two months.
