Dousing the Cauvery fire Union Chemicals and fertilizers minister HN Ananth Kumar said there was no such proposal to set up Cauvery Management Board by the Centre. Ananth Kumar told reporters in Bangalore on Saturday that he ascertained from Water Resources Minister and there was no such proposal in front of the centre.

He said, “Today morning I have spoken to Union Water Resource Minister Uma Bharti, there is no such proposal in the Water Resource Department.”

In fact Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had strongly opposed the Centre’s move to constitute a Cauvery Management Board to please Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. The Chief Minister has sought an appointment with the Prime Minister on June 10 to take an all party delegation to appeal to him of the situation and to oppose any such move by the Centre.
