From playing Pammi in Kya Hua Tera Vada, Mr Verma’s wife  in Yes Boss to doing the reality shows Zara Nachke Dikha and Bigg Boss 6, Delnaaz Irani has been there and done it all. The talent powerhouse is now all set for the family drama Jee le Zara on Sony TV which, she says, is based on the life of independent women.

“I will be playing Dilshad who is a happy, strong and independent woman. She is close to her friend Saachi (Sangeeta Ghosh) and stays by her side,” she tells you.

This is not the first time that Irani and Ghosh are coming together. The duo had bonded quite well during Nach Baliye Season 1. “I’ve spent a lot of time with Sangeeta as she was the host of Nach Baliye back then. We share a good rapport.  As for the lead actor, I am excited to be working with Ruslaan Mumtaz,” Irani says. After having participated in almost all genres of reality shows like Nach Baliye, Zara Nachke Dhikha, Bigg Boss 6 and Welcome, Baazi Mehmaan Nawazi Ki, Irani now wants to boogie woogie on Jhalak.

“Zara Nachke Dhikha was the best reality show till date. I’m passionate about dancing. Bigg Boss was a huge show but I would never want to go inside that house again. Instead, I would love to do JDJ,” she says.

Irani considers herself lucky to have shared screen space with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan in Kal Ho Na Ho. “It was awesome to work with these super big people. I learnt a lot from them and from this movie as well,” Irani tells you.

It was her BFF Kareena Kapoor who encouraged her to loose weight. Kapoor and Irani worked together in Milenge Milenge.  “She is a real sweetheart. We were dining buddies,” Irani recalls, adding that her favourite performance is that of Sridevi in Sadma (1983).

A theatre person, Irani likes to pick and choose her projects. “Acting is a career of passion. I focus on acting and mould myself as per the role,” she says.

Delnaaz’s love for children has landed her a children feature film Tomtchi and Pogo telefilm Gongal. “I’ll be playing mother in both these films,” she says.
