After painting road dividers and kerbs green and pink last year, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has decided to change the colour once again. But the twist in the tale is that this time around the NDMC girds up to revert to the old one: black and yellow only after it received complaints from public, NGOs and even traffic police.
“All the road dividers and kerbs under the NDMC area will be painted. We have deployed our man force and the work should be complete by next weekend,” said Naresh Kumar, chairman of New Delhi Municipal Council.
“We repaint the road divider and kerbs every year. last year we changed the colour to pink and green to give it a new look. The colour combination was to bring uniformity within the area under the NDMC but the move solicited several complaints. Some people even approached the court. There is nothing wrong in the present colour but we are changing it just to serve people’s interest,” said Anant Kumar, chief engineer of NDMC.
