In yet another development related to recently completed elections of three Rajya Sabha seats in Gujarat, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Saturday expelled its Gujarat spokesman Manahar Patel for anti-party activities. Confirming the development NCP’s Gujarat president Jayant Patel alias Boskey said that Manhar Patel was issuing statements contrary to the party’s view during the RS polls conducted earlier this month. ‘’The disciplinary committee of NCP has decided to remove Patel from the primary membership of the party. He couldn’t give clarification about his statements related to cross-voting to the top leadership,’’ said Boskey while talking to media persons. In view of the upcoming Assembly polls in the State later this year, NCP was in the process for the formation of new district units to strengthen party organisation in the poll bound Gujarat, he said. In the 182 member Gujarat Assembly there are only MlAs including Boskey and Kandhal Jadeja. Interestingly both of them voted for BJP candidates.
