In a clear and strong indication that Andhra Prdesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was thinking of a tie up with the Congress party ahead of next elections he expressed displeasures with two Ministers who had ruled out that possibility.
A day after Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy and another Minister Ayanna Patrudu had dismissed the possibility of an alliance with Congress Naidu has sought an explanation from them for speaking out of turn on the issue. “How the Ministers can say any such thing when they know that the party was yet to discuss it in the politburo. What was the need for them to say such a thing”, he said. Naidu was unhappy that the Ministers were making such comments under pressure from the media outlets owned by the leader of opposition YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
Naidu said that it was the tradition of the TDP to take the decision about alliance with other parties before the elections. “Our aim is to win all the 25 lok Sabha seats and play a decisive role in choosing the next Prime Minister. In such a situation it is not proper for the Ministers to talk like that”, he said.
Earlier Ayanna Patrudu had said that TDP was formed on anti Congress plank and he did not think that Chandrababu Naidu will have an alliance with the Congress. “Congress looted this country. Nothing could be more unfortunate than an alliance with such a party. Even if it happens I will be the first person to oppose it”, he said.
“Alliance with Congress is impossible”, Krishnamurth had told the media in Kurnool.
