Modi's southern campaign to kickstart today

Published on:

BJP’s possible Prime Ministerial candidate and Gujarat CM Narendra Modi will kick off his southern-campaign with a “Nava Bharat Yuva Bheri” or youth rally in  Hyderabad on Sunday even as the ongoing stir against Telangana was threatening to cast its shadows on the event.

The State BJP, which has pulled out all the stops to make the event a huge success, was hopeful that the event will attract at least 70,000 to 80,000 people mostly from Hyderabad and surrounding areas. The event will have all the usual hallmarks of a Modi-event, use of the hitech-tools and social media for the pre-event mobilisation.

But the decision of the authorities not allowing the 3D holographic projectors at different places in the city beaming Modi’s speech lives has come as a dampener for the party. The police decline the permission citing the present surcharged atmosphere over Telangana issue. The party has installed 12 lED screens in and around the stadium and also arranged the live telecast of the speech in some theaters in twin cities as well as the districts of Telangana.
